2023 HBA of F-M President

As we dive into 2024, it's time to reflect on the incredible journey we've had throughout the year.

Before we get nostalgic, I want to highlight our New Year Celebration coming up next week - Jan. 18 – it’s the hottest ticket in town and the HBA’s flagship event! Join us for insider insights from Jim Tobin, CEO of the National Association of Home Builders, connect with local mayors and officials, and witness the handoff of the gavel to our 2024 HBA president, Bill Rothman from Kilbourne Group.

In addition to celebrating our achievements, we have an exciting announcement to share at the New Year Celebration. The 2024 HBA of F-M leadership prioritized a renaming and rebranding initiative, aligning with our evolving scope and vision. Join us Jan. 18 to be the first to learn about our new name, reflecting our commitment to continued expansion and membership growth. It's a pivotal moment for our association, and we can't wait to share it with you!

Now, let's throw it in reverse! Your HBA, along with NAHB and the North Dakota Association of Home Builders, offers the trifecta of local, state, and national solutions. We've been tackling industry challenges head-on all year.

Advocacy

Locally, we've been actively engaged, fostering relationships with officials, combatting cost increases, and championing workforce needs. From maintaining tax exemptions and incentives to participating in the regional housing study released last year, we constantly monitor the pulse of our growing community. HBA is your advocate for maintaining attainable housing and efficient, safe construction practices.

Membership & Events

Our HBA had a strong year in terms of membership recruitment and retention, boasting one of the best retention rates in the nation and recruiting 72 new members.

We've seen increased participation in our events, with several selling out and others growing steadily. To cater to our members' preferences, we're adding more fun, networking opportunities that now include Happy Hour events, two Golf Outings, the High Noon Shootout and picnics.

Our public events, the RRV Home & Garden Show and Parade of Homes, continue to thrive with rebrands and opportunities for members to showcase their products.

For your business needs, we provide classes for contractor continuing education required by law (tailored by local members), industry data through Permits Plus, and bi-weekly updates on regulatory changes at the local, state, and national levels.

Our ongoing workforce development efforts, in collaboration with the Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation, aim to promote our industry to students through several channels including the Health, Tech & Trades Career Expo and Herdina Construction Trades Camp.

As we welcome Bill Rothman as our 2024 president, join us at the New Year Celebration Jan 18. Remember, your HBA is here as a resource and industry partner. Reach out to our professional staff whenever you need assistance.
